Window Horses karaoke video, 2009. Window Horses, the song, was part of “Breathless: the book of Anne”, written by Ann Marie Fleming at the Akademie Schloss Solitude, 1996.
Why “Window Horses”? Window for Culture. Horses for Family. A window is the lens through which we see the world. Horses are are symbols of masculine or feminine, in different cultures. The word for horse – “mah” – in Chinese means mother. They are wild and domestic, peaceful yet fearsome. Gentle and powerful at the same time.
There were 3 horses in the field outside of Ann Marie Fleming’s writer’s residence. She’d go out and feed them every day, homesick.
